چکیده

Abstract We have undertaken a molecular analysis of the Orthurethra, one major groups stylommatophoran land snails and slugs. Approximately 4000 nucleotides rRNA gene cluster [5.8S, internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) almost full-length large subunit (LSU; 28S) gene] were sequenced for 40 orthurethran genera belonging to 19 families. Our phylogeny recovers three well-supported clades within Orthurethra; Azecidae, Chondrinidae + Truncatellinidae, main clade comprising all remaining The first division in Orthurethra separates Azecidae from other taxa. Of those families represented by more than genus, Achatinellidae, Cerastidae, Partulidae Vertiginidae are recovered as strongly supported monophyletic units, whereas Chondrinidae, Enidae, Pupillidae Valloniidae unsupported tree. Although there is relatively little support deep-level relationships among groups, some groupings supported. sister-group relationship Cochlicopidae with Amastridae our analyses, also grouping Orculidae Pyramidulidae, Draparnaudiidae Gastrocoptidae. findings analyses dividing into superfamilies: Azecoidea, Chondrinoidea Pupilloidea.

Molecular phylogeny of Ephippidae (Actinopteri: Acanthuriformes)

The family Ephippidae consists of eight genera and 15 species. The genus Platax with five species distributed throughout Indo-Pacific, seemingly has more diversity than other genera of the family. Phylogenetic relationships among species and genera of the family, however, are not fully resolved. 48 sequences of eight species (four genera) of batfishes are available in the GenBank and have been ...

Molecular Phylogeny of Certain Thai Gastrocoptine Micro Land Snails (stylommatophora: Pupillidae) Inferred from Mitochondrial and Nuclear Ribosomal Dna Sequences

The taxonomy of southeast Asian gastrocoptine pupillid micro land snails is based almost entirely on shell morphological characters, with an emphasis on apertural barriers. We aimed to test the phylogenetic utility of these characters by constructing a molecular phylogeny, based on nuclear (28S rDNA) and mitochondrial (16S rDNA) ribosomal gene fragments, for a cross-section of Thai gastrocoptin...

Molecular phylogeny of the family Araceae as inferred from the nuclear ribosomal ITS data

The internal transcribed spacer regions of nuclear ribosomal DNA are widely used to infer phylogenetic relationships in plants. In this study, it was obtained the ITS sequences from 24 samples of Araceae in Iran, representing 3 genera: Arum L., Biarum Schott. and Eminium (Blume) Schott. Phylogenetic analyses were conducted by Bayesian inference and maximum Parsimony methods. Cladistic analysis ...

Molecular phylogeny of the Notostraca.

We used a combined analysis of one nuclear (28S rDNA) and three mitochondrial markers (COI, 12S rDNA, 16S rDNA) to infer the molecular phylogeny of the Notostraca, represented by samples from the six continents that are inhabited by this group of branchiopod crustaceans. Our results confirm the monophyly of both extant notostracan genera Triops and Lepidurus with good support in model based and...

Molecular phylogeny of the Entomophthoromycota.

The Entomophthoromycota is a ubiquitous group of fungi best known as pathogens of a wide variety of economically important insect pests, and other soil invertebrates. This group of fungi also includes a small number of parasites of reptiles, vertebrates (including humans), macromycetes, fern gametophytes, and desmid algae, as well as some saprobic species. Here we report on recent studies to re...
